$5.5 Million to be transferred to World Wide Work from Assembly Hall fund
by Sour Grapes ina letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.

There is a kingdom hall which was disbanded some years ago in Bootle, which is not far outside of Liverpool. It was up for sale for years before it was sold. I was in the area recently and went to take a look to see who it had been sold to and was quite surprised to see that The Seventh Day Adventist Church had bought it.
What goes around .................

Born Ins, How Did Your Parents Get "The Truth™"?
by pale.emperor inborn ins are in a unique position in that we never knew any other way of life.
no birthdays, christmas and overly superstitious family just seemed normal.
when my parents talked about their pre-jw life it seemed like they were talking about completely different people (actually, that's true, the cult had taken their real selves).. so i'd be interested in hearing how your parents were indoctrinated.. my dad.

I wasn't really a born in. My dad was contacted at the door when I was 4. He loved debating with people about anything and he invited them in. It could very well have just as easily been the Mormons!
He started a study and very quickly got baptized. My mum was very opposed, she was once a Sunday school teacher and firmly believed in her faith.
My dad had lost his mum when he was 14 and the promise that he would see her again had a big influence on his joining the witnesses.
It took my mum 10 years of being love bombed for them to wear her down. All that time we were like part-time witnesses. Going to meetings but still celebrating xmas etc. If my mum had never become one then none of her 4 children would have because my dad very quickly stopped going.
My mum couldn't quite make the commitment because she was scared to tell her family and the neighbours!
So when I was 14 we moved house and she decided she would make the commitment then
She is 87 now and still hanging on to the hope that one day she will be in paradise on earth.
Two of my siblings are still in, one left when she was a teenager and got on with a normal life. I wish with hindsight that I had done the same but they convinced me it was the truth. I really believed it back then.
My dad who invited them in, has never gone back except for a short period in the 80s when he had another study but fell out with the brother studying with him because he told him he should shave his beard off. He wouldn't and they argued and the brother left never to return.

My sister mentioned the video about 1975 to me because she knows that initially was what bothered me the most. Funny that she said it was about 1975 because they don't mention the year in it. I feigned ignorance about having seen it already. I said really? What did they say? Did they say the idea came from their literature? She said yes! I don't think she was watching the same video as me!
She seems to think that because they have brought it up and discussed it that they are owning up to introducing the idea. But obviously they are still blaming individual witnesses for thinking this idea up.
I love the way the brother in the video says "and then we were sent a new test"! Who were they sent this test from? Their own leaders!
They are too stupid to realise.

2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975
by baldeagle inmany of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".
this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.
we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

My husband for years has always said exactly what the society keep saying, that 'some' 'or a few individuals' were looking to 1975. He always said and still says that those individuals were only in our congregation! We would argue all the time about it. I said all the time that it was in the literature, he denied it. I could not prove it because I did not have any to show him from back then, but I knew I was right and I was annoyed that they kept lying about it.
I can't believe they are so blatantly lying about it again. What this brother is saying will just reaffirm to my husband that he was right and I was wrong.
I stopped going years ago, mainly because certain ones kept denying that the society had ever put in print anything about 1975. There were some other little niggling things too but mainly 1975.
They just continue to lie. Most of them believe every lie they are told.

A First for Mrs Phizzy !
by Phizzy inmrs phizzy voted for the first time today !
we have been out for nearly a decade now, but this is the first time mrs phizzy has been persuaded to vote.. she was always afraid that jw's would see her, and then df her for it, i explained (again, we have been over this before) that they would not do so, and my son had a word in her ear too, which did the trick.. she came out of the polling station and said to me "i voted for someone called teresa may, who is she ?".
trying to wind me up, but i knew the wicked witch of westminster was not on our ballot sheet.

Congratulations to Mrs Phizzy. I am just on my way to vote. This will be the second time I have voted. I felt the same as she did the first time, and still am nervous about being seen. I have waited for my husband to go to his meeting before I could go.

Keeping in touch on facebook she asked me how many witnesses I had seen on my travels. I was very happy to report to her that I had seen none!
She seemed very surprised by my answer and said that they had been told that the Japenese witnesses were very zealous and were always out witnessing.
I actually did receive some leaflets today from another religion outside of a train station. I thought the witnesses were the only ones preaching? Still havn't seen any witnesses.

Saename
I'm nervous because I dont want to be pressured to "return to Jehovah", to be told how close we are to the end of this system.
I am nervous that after 'successfully' (kind of) just fading into the background and having all my witness family still speaking to me that I may slip up and tell them why I don't believe anymore and get disfellowshipped!
When I first found out about TTATT some years ago I blurted out many things to my family and husband expecting them to see what I could see, but obviously they didn't. After finding out on this forum that that was the wrong way to go about it I stopped speaking about it to them. It is hard sometimes to listen to them coming out with so much rubbish and not coming back at them. But I have learned to do that.
I have just found out when my husband returned home that he had asked the circuit overseer to come to see me, he was going to invite me to the meeting on Sunday. My husband knew I had locked myself in the bathroom so I could not to see him! Quite embarrassing, I had hoped he wouldn't have realised that I had seen him.
After the recent one day assembly my husband is full of it (holy spirit)? lol. I found out this afternoon from my mother, that my husband is pioneering this month! That was the first I had heard about it. He has said nothing to me about it. This from a person who before this managed a couple of hours a month!
Lets hope he doesn't bring the circuit overseer round again this week or I'll be spending quite a bit of time in the bathroom!
